Plataforma en Defensa de la Libertad de Información (PDLI) is a Spanish civil society group uniting journalists, lawyers, media houses, social movements and consumer advocates.

PDLI arouse out of the concern of a group of organisations and individuals in the legal field, journalism and social movements after the deterioration of freedom of expression and information in Spain, following a series of reforms and the approval of new laws, such as the Organic Law Project on the Protection of Citizen Security, the Intellectual Property Law, the Transparency Law.

Among the activities PDLI carries out, there is the monitoring and dissemination of attacks on freedom of expression against journalists and the media, as well as against activists, social movements and citizens. PDLI also support campaign in defense of media freedom and organise training programs for journalists, activists and social movements on how to safely exercise their profession.

PDLI launched mapea.cc, an online tool to collect data on legal threats to freedom of expression.

The Open Society Foundation works since 1979 to build vibrant and tolerant societies whose governments are accountable and open to the participation of all people. The Open Society Foundation fund a range of programs around the world, from public health to education to business development.

It supports efforts that expand and protect press freedoms, increase public access to knowledge and information, include minority voices in media, and use the arts to address pressing social issues.

Reporters Without Borders - Stakeholders

Reporters Without Borders was founded in 1985 in France, where it is registered as a non-profit organisation. RWB mission includes the monitoring, denounce and prevention of attacks on freedom of information worldwide. The organization specialised spheres of activity also include a focus on Internet Censorship and the New Media, and the support to journalists working in dangerous areas.

Reporters Without Borders has an active presence in five continents through a network of over 150 correspondents, and enjoys a consultant status at the United Nations and UNESCO.

South East European Network for Professionalization of Media - Stakeholders

The South East European Network for Professionalization of Media (SEENPM) promotes excellence in journalism and unites fifteen non-for-profit media cent­ers from eleven South East European and neigh­boring countries. Its main activities are policy initiatives, research and training to enhance the development of independent media, the strengthening of relations among journalists, and overall progress in the region.
